Our versatile TempU M3 multi-use data logger provides reliable and precise recording of temperature and humidity data — ideal for storage, transportation, and many other applications. The logger is designed for multiple use and is perfect for long-term use. Due to its large data storage of up to 32,000 measurement points, the multi-path data logger can be ideally used for long-term measurements in office spaces, warehouses, archives, or during long transports. With the TempU M3, you get an affordable long-term solution for monitoring temperature and relative humidity. The data logger is battery-powered and can be stopped and restarted multiple times. A standard replaceable CR2032 battery is used to operate the reusable data logger. The data logger's LCD display shows the current climate values, battery status and the device's recording mode. Additionally, the status display indicates whether a limit value has been exceeded.

The data logger can be conveniently configured individually using a free temperature management software. Parameters such as measurement interval, start delay or limited alarm values can be adjusted to meet specific customer requirements. The software is easy to understand and simple to use, even for beginners. For maximum flexibility, however, the use of the software is not absolutely necessary: the logger can be used directly with the factory-preset standard values. Alternatively, we can also offer a customized special configuration upon request.

The recorded data can be read out on the PC via the integrated USB interface. An automatically generated PDF/CSV report is created, which displays the temperature and humidity trends over a curve and lists all individual values. The calibration certificate, which is valid for two years, is also stored in digital form on the data logger.

Activation and use:

If you need other settings than the default ones, you can adjust them according to your requirements in the temperature management software. After installing and launching the free software on your PC, connect the data logger to the computer via the USB port as well. You can see that the software has recognized the logger by the green hook, and you can adjust all the limits, the measurement interval, a start and alarm delay, the temperature unit, and the UTC time zone.

After all settings have been made, press the START button for 3 seconds to start the logger. As soon as the OK light flashes, the data logger has been activated. Additionally, you will see the START symbol or the "WAIT" message on the LCD display, both of which indicate that the logger has been successfully activated. The OK light flashes green about every 10 seconds. If the data logger records an alarm value, the ALARM light will be lit red. The regular blinking of the LED lights indicates that the logger is active and recording. After the logger has been successfully activated, it can be installed at the measurement location. We recommend that you write down the serial number on the logger or scan it using the barcode. Due to the unique serial number, it is not possible to exchange the logger, and tampering is prevented.

During recording, the current status can be viewed on the LCD display. You can obtain information at a glance using various symbols, e.g., whether a limit value has been exceeded. You will find detailed explanations of the individual symbols in the enclosed user manual. During recording, up to 6 deviations can also be set, for example during a reloading process. Here, there may be larger fluctuations in the values, and the markings indicate this in the data report. We recommend that all parties involved be trained in advance to rule out incorrect operation or accidental stopping. Additionally, every marking should be documented for complete traceability.

You can stop the data logger either on the PC via the software or manually by pressing the STOP button for about 3 seconds. If the stop was successful, the ALARM light will flash for 3 seconds. The recorded data is read out via the USB interface on the PC. As soon as the data logger has successfully connected to the PC, the OK and ALARM lights will flash alternately. If only the OK light is lit green, the data report has been generated and can be accessed in PDF and CSV format. Please save the data report on your PC to free up storage space. If the data storage is full, the data logger will stop recording. There is no ring buffer.

Restart and battery replacement:

Depending on the recording intensity and duration, a battery change may be necessary. It is especially important to check the battery's charge level before restarting. You can see this on the data logger's LCD display. Open the cover on the back of the logger with a slotted screwdriver or a similar tool. Remove the old battery, dispose of it properly, and insert the new battery, making sure to observe the positive and negative terminals. A CR2032 3.0V lithium battery is required. Now close the cover again.

Once you have made sure that you have saved the data report and checked the battery status, you can restart the data logger – following the same procedure as described above. You can reuse the logger. The included calibration certificate, which you can download with the data report from the logger or via the software, is valid for two years. After the expiration of these two years, the logger must be recalibrated to confirm that the measurement can still be performed flawlessly. Since the recalibration process is complex and expensive, the simplest and most cost-effective solution is to replace the old data logger with a new device.
